As a qualified Nursery Nurse, I have worked in Early Years since 2001
across various settings, mostly in the inner-London area, including
private daycare, Social Services and Local Authority schools. I have
worked with a diverse range of families. From 2006 to 2016, I worked
full-time in Education, in Early Years, in both Reception and Nursery,
alongside a teacher. In 2018 after having my two daughters, I was asked
to run the ‘I can’ speech & language intervention programme by my
Head teacher, I did this on a 1.1 basis and also with small groups of
children. I also worked closely with children who had additional needs
and were waiting to go to specialist schools. I was the sole leader of the
room; having full responsibility for the class. I have most recently been
working as a nursery learning support assistant at my daughters' school,
as it was a better fit for my family’s needs. We are relocating to Norfolk
to be closer to my husband's family, and he will now be the primary
caregiver, enabling me to work full-time once again. I have two daughters who are 6 and 7 so I have lots of experience with babies & toddlers too!
