After School Care Shepton Mallet

| Hi! I am a confident, friendly and responsible graduate with many years of childcare experience. I am currently completing postgraduate study towards becoming an educational psychologist, focusing on children and young people with autism. I have lots of skills and experince in fields such as Speech Therapy, Makaton Sign Language and Tutoring. I recently helped to run an after school debating club for low-income children. I am a happy, fun and kind person who loves working with kids and I would love to nanny your children over the summer whilst I have a break from studying.

| I previously was a level 3 early years educator apprentice in a pre-school and worked in an after school club in a primary school. I have been babysitting since the age of 14 for ages between 3 and 12. I like to encourage the children to be outside and how to use the outside not only to have fun but to learn.

| I am a 22 year old fourth year student at from South Africa studying at the University of Bath for an exchange semester. I grew up in a small farming town called Nottingham Road in the KZN Midlands and am the eldest of four children. I love being around people and when I was at school I was very much part of the outreach schooling programme called STEPP to teach the children English Literacy. I love the outdoors, especially trail runnning, hiking and fishing. I believe I have a good work ethic and I strive to keep a good balance in my life. I am a gentle, caring, energetic and driven person with a love for nature. I previously au paired for a family of three young girls (aged 5, 3 and 1). I would fetch the girls from preschool and would babysit in the afternoons where we would play games, do outdoor activities, bake, do arts and crafts. I would also babysit them on some evenings and weekends when the parents had functions or needed extra help. I have my drivers licence as well as have completed my level 2 first aid course. I would love to get an afternoon or evening babysitting job in or near Bath City and am also available in some weekends to help out.

| I have 5+ years of babysitting experience, caring for multiple different families over this time. Ages of children have ranged from 2 to 12 years. I have picked up children from school, helped with homework, prepared light snacks, dropped off and picked up from activities and entertained! I enjoy getting to know each of the children I look after so I can tailor my care to best suit them - and most importantly I am a friend to them! Before this, I worked for 4 years as an after school nanny for a family I was placed with through and agency and loved watching the kids grow up - it’s safe to say I’ll be in their lives (and them in mine) for many years to follow! I’m currently working part time in an admin role whilst studying for my Masters degree, I’m looking for part time childcare work to help fund my studies. In my free time I love playing music, watching films and spending time with my partner and friends!

| I have been in childcare for more than 10yrs in Plymouth, Bristol and Wells: after school clubs, schools, nurseries, nannying and babysitting. Have experience working with children on the autism spectrum and currently work Mon-Fri in a nursery.

| I have worked with children so each Friday afternoon I helped the teachers out in the reception class. This included listening to children read, helping them move around school, practice counting one on one with children. At the end of the school day I also helped children get their things together to go home. I learnt to cope in a noisy environment, how to calm children down and to predict what help teachers needed.
