After School Care Huntingdon

| I grew up with 2 older siblings who both had kids when I was very young. I started helping them out when I visited by changing their nappies, reading them stories, putting them to bed etc. I am now 19 years old and my nephews are 6 and 10, now that I am older I look after them a lot more thoroughly. I’ll spend weeks at a time at my sisters house while she’s away for work taking the kids to and from school, to their after school activities, packing their lunches, cooking them food, bathing them and helping them with their homework. I love my nephews to pieces and they are my absolute world, looking after them brings me so much joy even if they are super cheeky! Because I was so young when they were born I wanted to look after children just like how my sisters looked after their own. Knowing that I could look after children as a job is something I have dreamt of since I was tiny. I have grown up so quickly and I am extremely mature for my age mainly due to the fact I grew up in a family where I was the youngest out of everyone.

| My name is Alex I currently run a small childrens swim school from my parents home which is mainly after school hours, I teach children form the age of 1-upwards I have also worked in a nursery and lifeguard at my local pool, as I love working with children I’d like to do something that is more flexible around my little school I run, I hold my own dbs and I’m first aid trained.

| I have volunteered to supervise children in multiple primary schools, to be a general support and also to help teach art, English and maths in less advantaged schools. I have cooking experience within my school, choosing to complete a cooking class every Thursday afternoon in my last year of school and enjoying it generally at home. I have also done some babysitting for children aged 6-8 and have been around younger children due to friends siblings, helping them and older children through taking on leadership roles within my school in committees, CCF and sport. I have completed first aid courses multiple times both in and outside school. Being on a gap year I have a lot of times and means to be around and support children, taking them to clubs, cooking and school runs. I also feels being a younger applicant allows me to bring a different energy and be creative and imaginative around the children.
