We are searching for a friendly, infinitely patient, reliable visitor for my Mum. Ideally you would have experience dealing with the elderly and the challenges that dementia can bring. Maybe you have worked in a care home or perhaps you have cared for your own parents? We need someone to help with shopping and evening meal preparation a few times a week. A little help with some of the jobs she finds more difficult like changing the bed, cleaning the bathroom and hoovering through her small home and maybe an occasional trip out. Someone warm and friendly to sit and chat, prepare a small, nutritious, simple meal and eat with her. She is a chatty, friendly lady who needs her “own person” to spend time with her and ensure she is eating a decent meal at least a few times a week. We are looking for someone who has plenty of experience, is children centred and understands the importance of emotional regulation. Personal experience with gentle parenting desirable. An inclusive, pet friendly home would suit us perfectly. Able to take our son out the house i.e. to the library, toddler groups, trips out etc. we also have a 6 year old daughter in school that we may occasionally need support with collecting from school. Returning to complete my degree in midwifery means hours would need to be flexible to some extent depending if I am in placement or at university. MUST be a non-smoker.
