Special Needs Care Jobs in Stamford

Looking for a reliable and supportive individual for a 16 year old male who lives in Stamford. Must be into health and fitness, enjoy a good sense of humour and support him to access the gym, work on the couch to 5k and the occasional trip to a coffee shop. J is a happy, easy going young man who has Fragile X syndrome, Autism and learning disabilities. J loves the gym and his dream is to be able to do a park run. Due to his disabilities he cannot access activities independently. At age 16 he would love to have support and help from an individual (rather than his parents as at 16, it is just not cool anymore!). J is physically fully mobile. He has some physical targets to work on to increase his core strength and build up muscle tone. Above all he would love to experience opportunities that other 16year olds get to do independently of their family. Hours: 1 morning per weekend (Saturday or Sunday and can be flexible) and 1 evening per week. Driver would be preferred

We are looking for a person with experience in special needs. We need a live in carer to help with our 12 year old daughter. She is autistic has has PDA We spend around 6 months in Spain She has challenging behaviour at times There is myself, my husband 9 year old son and our 12 year old daughter.

My husband and I are looking for a babysitter than can look after our children of an evening (when we go on date nights) or the odd occasion we need care during the day (Weekend) if we wanted to visit some where child free. On the evening our son would already be in bed, and our daughter would need little help putting herself to bed, just reading to her. As our son is autistic he May require a little more extra help. He is classes as none verbal, which means he doesn't converse with you, however he can ask for things he need, generally a shout first and we see to his needs as and when. As much as it sounds daunting looking after a child with special needs, the most help he needs is if he wants extra things, wants more milk or needs help with something in his room. We would of course like the right person with some sort of previous experience with children with Autism or just a very patient manner and understanding that he requires a little more help. References and other check will be required to ensure we have the right person for the job. This will not be every single week, it May be just once a month and not every month, as and when required basis. There might be the odd time we would like a child free day on a Saturday or Sunday, so that would require more time, this would be very rare however nice to know that the right person would be willing to take on that position.
