We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible Support Worker to work in a lovely home setting in Surrey, GU9 with a non-verbal, physically disabled young person with complex needs (cerebral palsy), occasional challenging behaviour and learning difficulties. Experience is preferred and a Level 2 certificate in Social Care is desirable, however not mandatory as training can be given. Driver with own car is essential. You will be part of a small care team mostly covering school holidays and the occasional weekend. This young person loves being out and about, and particularly loves train watching, singing, being around fun/outgoing people as well as watching TV programmes on the iPad. Hours School Holidays and occasional weekends (including Friday evenings) *these hours can be flexible if required, with the possibility of contracted hours. Shift Hours School holidays: 9.00am-9:00pm each day worked. Term time (occasional weekends): Sat 9.00am – 9:00pm Sun 9.00am – 9:00pm Job Type: Zero hours contract Salary: • Weekday rate - £16.00p/h • Weekend rate - £18.00p/h. • Bank holidays – time and a half Duties will include: • Personal Care (bathing/showering/toileting/etc.) • Manual handling (assistance with transferring). • Administering medication • Record keeping • Preparing and serving meals/snacks • Light domestic duties • Companionship Benefits: • Competitive rates of pay. • Sick pay (2 weeks full pay over a rolling 12 months, then reverting to Statutory Sick Pay • Excellent training and ongoing professional development. • Holiday pay accrued. We would also love to be able to call on you for ad hoc help particularly during the holidays. Ideally you would have experience of similar needs.
