Special Needs Care Jobs in Brighton

Someone to support alongside our family with day to day care. R needs one on one attention and this can be tricky for us to provide while looking after our other children, chores or trips out. I have a rota of carers but predominantly shifts would be on Saturday day, Saturday overnight or Sunday day time.

22 year-old lady who has a genetic long term health condition (Cystinosis). During periods of fatigue and flare up of symptoms she requires support with domestic activities of daily living, accessing the community, house-keeping/administration tasks and the occasional need to assist with personal care. G is trailing longer periods away from the family home to live more independently in a shared private rental home. We are looking for a competent and interested P.A. to support G in her daily living and work towards improving her safety and independence. The P.A. should have some background of disability, long term health condition or other similar experience, and the ability to manage the physical and psychological aspects associated with such work. Applications from Nursing or Health Professional students are encouraged. Training and Case Manager support will be provided. The P.A. where required should be able to support and enable G in her chosen domestic, educational, occupational, social and leisure activities. The P.A. should be flexible, with clear communication skills. Having the ability to keep accurate records is essential.

My family is here for the next three weeks in Central Brighton (Clifton/Montpelier area). One of my daughters has autism, and I'm looking for someone to take her for a couple or a few hours from time to time to keep her entertained. Hours are very flexible. My energy levels can vary dramatically, and I'm often in pain or recovering from injury due to chronic health complications. Most of the work will be carried out independently and without necessarily seeing or communicating with me, therefore candidates must have the ability to work independently, manage their own hours, and communicate what has been done. Candidates must also have a person-centred approach and an understanding of enabling independence, as well as being reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable with open & direct communication.
