I’m looking for a carer for my mum. She suffered a stroke at the end of last year and consequently suffers from some mobility problems. She currently lives in a ground floor apartment and is pretty independent. We’re looking for someone to call in for an hour in the mornings (preferably 7.30-8.30 but later would also be ok). She needs help with showering, getting dressed and then a few household tasks such as washing up, putting the bins out and laundry. She currently has help each day but is happy to drop to 5 days if this suits better.

Flat 1 Madeira House Madeira Road West Byfleet My mother has been in a nursing home for the last 6 months and was extremely ill for some time. has now made a full and astonishing recovery to the point that she is now going home and only requires a basic type of home care. This could of course change at any time and what I have learnt over the last 6 months is that old people’s health is very unpredictable. lives on her own and knows a few people in the flats who sometimes help her out. I am her son and I live in Surbiton/Kington her other son Ian lives in Sevenoaks in Kent. We will require about 3 - 4 hours daily, (deadening on rates) ideally from 12.00 am to 15.00 pm or later (nor earlier if possible). We require the care to start from the 24th of November 2022. Duties would include • Preparing and cooking of meals for lunch and dinner • Domestic chores e.g., bed-making, cleaning sheets, clothes and possibly cleaning the flat (if that is part of the service?) • Supervising the use of medicines • Ensuring clients have adequate heating and clean clothing available • Encouragement to participate in hobbies, like Bridge club, reading and internet browsing • Taking her for walks around the garden • Accompanying or driving clients to any trips out or doctor/ hospital appointments • Shopping and online shopping • Being a friend to talk to (need someone who likes to chat and is patient) Helping her to use the toilet and showering, personal care etc. is not required.
