We need an exceptional carer with live-in experience. Someone who is fit and active and who will encourage my father to get out, go to church, go on short walks. Someone who enjoys cooking and can produce excellent home cooked meals. Someone who will encourage conversation and enjoy the company of my dad (an old school gentleman). My father needs support with day to day things but still retains quite a lot of independence. He gets confused but despite this is often able to engage in interesting conversations. My father sleeps very well at night and often naps during the day. We have had a few carers now and they have all found him to be a delight to care for. We realise now, however, that we need a long term carer so that dad can have the ongoing consistency of one carer which will benefit him as he is getting a little confused with changing faces. Ideally, you will work for 5 weeks on and then take a break for 2 weeks. However, we can be flexible for the right person. You will be well supported by myself and my sister- a phone call away but not local. However, we take turns to come and see him every month. Dad has friends in the area and quite often has relatives popping in to see him. Dad lives in the pretty market town of Tiverton in Devon in a 2 bed flat in a quiet area. There is a lift to the flat so access is very easy for him. If this role sounds of interest and you are able to commit for the long term then I would be very interested in hearing from you. We have had incredible carers from Eastern Europe and would be very happy if this is your background.
