A warm-hearted, caring and energetic female person is needed to support a mum of teenage twins, who's recovering from brain surgery. This is not a straightforward carer's job and experience in healthcare is essential. Yes, it would require personal care, mobility support, meal prep and presentation, medication and companionship. But also with an outlook to developing the client's independence safely whilst engaging with the therapy being given by neuro-therapists. The client with her family of four (two children) are foodies and the supporting person will be expected to love cooking and collaborate with the client to prepare or cook the family's meals. The job is from 7.00am-5.30pm, Monday to Fridays during term time and from 8am - 4pm (with flexibility) in the school holidays. Duration is at least 6 months. Must be self-employed and a non-smoker. Salary is negotiable.

My mother has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and is about to start taking a new osteoporosis medication which is time specific, therefore I am initially looking for help once a week to assist. We are looking for another primary day carer to join a team of 6 people to help us look after our dying Mum around the clock. In addition, we also need a standby carer to cover days/nights when our regular carers are away. Mother's end-stage dementia has become challenging emotionally, mentally and physically. She's also in palliative care and lives in her own bungalow. Carers must demonstrate good understanding and experience of personal care, basic nursing care, palliative care and solid experience of caring after older people with severe dementia manifesting with mental illness. They must be person-focused and able to manage the daily ravages of severe dementia at end-stage and declining physical health. They should be able to anticipate her needs and give her care that makes her feel comfortable. Qualifications are a bonus but showing experience of dementia and palliative care and being able to adapt quickly, with kindness and where needed, gentle firmness are a must. Mother is fairly mobile with a zimmer but needs support to prevent falls. A number of aids are available in the house. Her continence is very good. Night carers share a bedroom with her and have their own single bed. 2 weekdays from 8am-6pm; Saturdays from 8am-1pm. Standby carers also needed for days/nights.
