John is 80 and has reduced mobility. He uses a frame to move around the house but needs assistance sometimes. He can go to the toilet himself though. He will need help washing and dressing and using the chair lift to get up and down the stairs. He has medication (tablets) that he needs to take daily and he will need his meals prepared as well as laundry done and bed made. John is friendly and chatty though and easy to look after. We need a permenent live in carer for 18 days while we are away on holiday.

I'm looking for care for my 71 year old stepdad every Saturday and Sunday morning. He lives in a bungalow in Sudbourne with my Mum. He currently has a private carer once a day Monday to Friday but we are looking for a carer Saturday and Sunday mornings for shower, continence care (wears a pad), washing and dressing. He mobilises supervision of one with a frame. for £20 each visit. My stepdad is very pleasant, he has mild dementia but welcomes conversation and help/ assistance.

The responsibilities of this role are varied as we have found that currently the lady feels she can manage without assistance however this isn’t the case. Currently all assistance is provided by the husband who is now becoming increasingly frustrated and tired but insists that he is managing at the moment. This support will initially start at a few hours for introduction and relationship building and grow as the couple becomes more comfortable with the individual. They have requested a female for support due to the ladies age and preference. We have a long term plan in place which will be discussed with the successful applicant.
