Senior Health Care Assistant Tues/Wed/Friday 4pm to 10.40pm. We are looking for an experienced health care assistant to support our Mum in her own home. She is 67 years old with primary progressive multiple sclerosis which has resulted in tetraplegia/paralysis and osteoporosis. This post would be an excellent opportunity for a dedicated carer who enjoys one-to-one care to directly influence and improve quality of life. The job would best suit someone who is cheerful, patient and experienced in providing solid emotional support as well as delivering the more practical aspects of the role. An interest and experience in the emotional and psychological complexities of chronic disease and disability would be invaluable. Responsibilities: Provide direct care to include double-up hoisted lifts at (4pm and 8pm), log rolls and manual positional adjustment (must therefore have up to date patient moving and handling confidence at level 2 or above). Postural care training is desirable. - Assist the senior HCA in the manual handling required for the bed time routine. - Light cleaning of the communal kitchen at the end of the day to prepare for the next day. Qualifications: - Previous experience at a senior level in a healthcare setting required including use of hoists - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients - Ability to work well in a team environment - knowledge of medical terminology and procedures - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Requirements: Right to work and DBS will both be required during applicant screening process. 2 year hoist experience essential Start date: asap Salary: £15/hr On-site parking.

Lead the shift as senior HCA with assistance from a junior HCA. - Take responsibility for the delegated clinical tasks: LVR breathing therapy, dental hygiene routine, Sleep system positioning and monitoring, hallucination management and reorientation (side effect of nighttime medication). - use Trauma-based care principles to manage anxiety and distress associated with loss of bodily autonomy, training with Tavistock and Portman hospital available if required. - Complete documentation as required to meet the NHS funding requirements. - Provide hands-on care to deliver her evening routine including fully hoisted lifts, manual positional adjustment and sleep system positioning. So must have up to date patient moving and handling confidence at level 2 or above. Postural care training is desirable but training can be given if needed. Qualifications: - At least 2 years experience in using a hoist essential - Previous experience at a senior level in a healthcare setting required including use of hoists - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients - Ability to work well in a team environment - knowledge of health and safety legislation and equipment checks - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Requirements: Right to work (33hrs per week) and DBS will both be required during applicant screening process. Please note induction training will take place on the Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday prior to starting shifts. Part-time hours: 33 per week Salary: £19/hr

We are looking for a personal assistant for my lovely father in Potters Bar to help with admin tasks, companionship, daily walks and trips to his exercise classes. An interest in IT and a good sense of humour would be helpful and possibly some knowledge of Greek culture. Hours are flexible and needed for approximately two hours a day initially, but likely to increase with time. He has Parkinsons and although mobile does require minimal assistance on leaving the house.

To start immediately. They enjoy Greek Cypriot dishes on a weekly basis so the ability to cook these authentic dishes is essential. Their diet overall is healthy and varied and a cook with a broad knowledge of different cuisines would be perfect. Mum has a keen interest in nutrition and health and Dad is diabetic, so the ability to keep dishes healthy (low salt/low sugar) is key. Mum also loves to experiment with new recipes that she sees on the tv, so a cook with an element of creativity and a willingness to indulge Mum's experimental side is most welcome. Hours are flexible and negotiable; 3 to 5hours twp or three times a week would be a suggestion - during this time you will be asked to make several dishes to last them for the next few days.  Many thanks, Emily
