Hi, my name is John and I am looking for some support for my elderly father in law who lives in Broadstone initially during the period 1-16 June for 1 hour a day ideally between 2 and 4pm Mon - Fri and ideally one day over the weekend, and for 3/4 days a week from 16 June onwards. He can generally care for himself but would benefit from being taken out for a short walk locally and some companionship and reassurance. My husband (52) had a bad fall on the heath on Christmas Day, fracturing his leg in two places. He needs to remain non weight bearing on the leg, but can't use crutches because he has a brain injury and can't get his brain to let him balance! He is normally completely independent, so he just needs help whilst he's non-weightbearing to transfer to and from the wheelchair, be helped to get to and from the bedroom and bathroom (once he's in there, he's fine, he can get himself on and off the toilet) and all the typical "man with an ailment needs", like getting him a drink or something to eat. We have 6 year old twins who are off school until next Wednesday, so we really do need help because I am not coping! I am not looking for help caring for the children. It's also worth mentioning that I have chronic fatigue so this is really taking out of me! I'm initially looking for someone who can do three hours a day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday Monday and Tuesday (30th - 3rd) Apart from Sunday when it would need to be 1:30 to 4:30, it can be any 3 consecutive hours between 10 and 4.
