Our 78-year-old stepfather lives in Birchington (the children all live in South Africa). My mother passed away last year at the end of November, and my stepfather seemed to be managing until now. He has diabetes and recently an issue with his kidneys and we couldn't get him to the hospital. We are not entirely sure what he needs, but from what we are able to work it: Light Housekeeping (washing clothes and basic cleaning) Getting to doctors and making sure he goes to appointments One meal prep if possible, he's not eating properly. Basic shopping and errands Most importantly, we need someone who can communicate and update us on his condition. We as his children are unsure how many hours a day or week this would entail and need some honest guidance and something that is affordable as he is on benefits.
