ESL Tutor Spruce Grove

| I have a lot of experience tutoring elementary school children in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I have been tutoring since I was in school myself. I am currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science so I am very comfortable with reading and writing. I am willing to work with the parents and the student to set a learning schedule that works for you.

| I am a fourth-year History major from MacEwan University. I first became interested in History when I learnt about my Great Grandfather's involvement in the Second World War and the important role he played in stealing the Enigma machine from Germany. Some topics in history I have focused on include; pre and post- confederation Canada, First Nations history, American history from Revolution to now, Russian history pre-revolution to post Cold War period, British Imperial history, German history from Empire through to World War II, French History Empire to World War II, along with the history of India, China, Japan and the Middle East. Overall I feel I have a strong grasp of different countries' histories from differing perspectives and different facets of well-known historical events such as the First and Second World Wars. I am also a Political Science minor, so I have knowledge of political systems around the world and how certain countries' political systems have evolved and changed over time especially in Canada and the United States. Before I chose my minor I took several English courses throughout University and graduated high school with AP English.

| I am a primary teacher from British Columbia where I have over 4 years of classroom experience. Beyond that, I was a substitute teacher in the United Kingdom and have over 10 years working with students of all ages. I believe in a balance of student interest and learning activities. The value of incorporating student enjoyment into the task at hand will not only make the task more approachable, but more memorable as well.

| I did very well in all of my high school classes(all of which were the highest level possible). I am NOT a certified tutor. But I am willing to help those who need a tutor for cheep without sacrificing the quality of tutor.

| Hello, my name is Kate! I'm 20 years old and currently enrolled in University of Alberta, having taken multiple university level English courses. I live in the Spruce Grove area, but I'm fine with travelling a bit or doing online tutoring. I'm happy to help with any upcoming English assignments or exams that are proving to be a challenge, or to help with understanding certain English terms or concepts.

| For the last two years I worked at BGC in before and after school care. Part of my job responsibilities was providing homework help and tutoring in all subjects. I helped children between the ages of 5-16 with reading, writing, math, science and social studies homework help and tutoring. I also helped prepare kids for tests and exams.

| I graduated from the University of Alberta with Bachelor if Education degree specializing in Elementary Education in 2018. I am a dedicated and organized teacher who loves working and learning with students based on their ability. In the past year, I have taught kindergarten that focuses on individualized learning needs. I have also taught grade 2 and have experience teaching in a “Cogito” or “traditional” classroom. I also have experience teaching grade 1 and grade 5 from my university practicum courses.
