We’re seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our team in providing care to a young man with autism, who, though semi-independent, requires assistance and companionship. With limited speaking abilities, he communicates effectively through other means, necessitating patience and understanding. Responsibilities include engaging in activities, assisting with daily living tasks, and ensuring safety. We offer a flexible schedule most of the time, but require coverage when other support workers or family members are on leave. Experience with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is advantageous.

Hi! We are looking for someone with experience with special needs/autism, who is fully present, patient, sensitive, fun and engaging for “play dates” which would include her favourite things: training to be the next Ninja Warrior, playing at parks, being active and creative, dance parties, music, playing dolls, tea parties, being imaginative. Would love someone who can help with learning self care, brushing hair/teeth etc as well as nurturing Jude’s loves of physical fitness and strength building (she has a new love for arial hoop dancing and wants to be in the circus!) :)
About us: My daughter is 11 and is a very special, sensitive and gentle soul with autism and a rare genetic disorder that affects her development and muscle tone. I tell her she's an incarnated unicorn :) She wears pull ups full time. Also, we have a cat :))
What we're looking for: Ideally, we'll find a Part-Time nanny 16-20hours a week. Live in is a potential option as well. I would love if you are also able to do light house keeping, laundry, grocery shopping and meal prep - teaching/including my daughter as she loves cooking/baking. Ideal days/times:
Monday 2-6
Tuesday 10-2
Wednesday 2-6
Thursday 10-2
J also loves: Singing /doing concerts with her microphone, do hands on sensory arts/crafts like slime/play doh etc. She loves doing play pretend school at home with drawing, tracing numbers, playing music and games. Ideally you are empathic, sensitive, compassionate, gentle tender soul and love connecting, encouraging and empowering kids. We have made a home ninja warrior gym and my daughter is very active and loves to make obstacle courses, jump on her trampoline, and loves people who can fully engage in play with her and stay fully present with her and be in her magical world with her. She loves water and is learning to swim, if that's an activity you want to do with her she needs someone to be in the water playing with her, she is fine as long as she can touch the bottom.
Start date: As soon as possible, ongoing.
