Before moving to Australia from England to gain experience somewhere new, I previously worked in a school for children with additional needs aged 2-18 for four years. The children in the school were all very different from each other some needing more medical assistance and some learning, I was very lucky to get to work with a wide range of different young people and gain lots of different training for this. I understand that anywhere new must have separate training but I have previously been trained in Gastronomy changing and feeding and Tracheotomy changing and care. I have also been trained for children with Vagus nerve stimulation and I am very familiar with different types of seizures.
Along side working at the school I also worked with two young boys who attended the school and cared for them in their homes and we did different activities on the weekends and evenings. These two young people were very different, one autistic and one very medical which gave me lots of different experience. I also have work experience with ADHD, children with Development Delay,Cerebral Palsy and anaphylaxis.
I also have work experience in early learning which I did for four months two days a week to complete my college course.
