Creative, patient, and experience disability support worker
|
My name is Nicole and I have recently moved from Canada with full working rights, have a valid working with childrens check, and international and Australian police check.
I have been working as a child disability support worker for 6+ years with 1 year experience as a child development facilitator within a school setting. I have primarily worked with children with Autism, GDD, learning disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, and Down syndrome, behavioural issues, non-verbal children, and physical or mobility limitations. No challenge is too difficult and I believe that getting to know the child, their interests and triggers, and meeting them at their level is the key to developing a strong and lasting relationship together. I have had experience introducing physio and occupational therapy exercises into play and games to make things less stressful and exciting!
I am a fun and creative individual who loves playing games, arts and crafts, and going out for adventures. I have had formal musical and theater training for 15+ years and am comfortable engaging children in a variety of activities. I am comfortable with children of all ages, taking children out for trips to the park, movies, or fun activities in the community.
