Hi there, my name is Lindsey and I am a 28-year-old American here on a working holiday visa. I am a kind, gentle person available to help as a companion for the elderly and assist with errands. In the US, I spend time weekly with both my maternal and paternal grandparents, and now that I am away, those visits have turned into calls, voice messages or emails. In Spain, I also worked for 3 years with a lovely woman in her 90's with Alzheimer’s. My job was to sit with her and talk about her life, while recording everything to be able to then remind her of certain life events. I believe the elderly have a lot to teach and truly enjoy spending time with them to hear their experiences. I am also bilingual and would be happy to incorporate a bit of teaching into the interactions, which has also been shown to be good for the brain in elderly years.
