| Hello, my name is Tia. I am currently in my third year of University at QUT, doing a double degree in Paramedic Science and Nursing. I have completed 12 weeks of nursing placement in acute hospital settings, aged care and community mental health placement. I believe these nursing placement taught me how to not only have the skills required for nursing, but the communication and social interactions that is beneficial for all ages. I have also completed a full time 6 week paramedic placement with the Queensland Ambulance Service. This was probably the best thing that has happened in my life, as it opened my eyes to see a wide range of individual, family and community situations. I can quickly adapt to new situations and have a flexible schedule and am open to working last minute. I am extremely passionate for peoples well being, and want to do my best to help those around me.

| Hi! My name's Lani, I'm 26 and have about seven years experience working as a nanny with a few lovely families. My role as a nanny has mainly involved picking up kids from school, helping them to unpack their bags/lunchboxes, helping with homework etc. I have also worked in before school care roles where I made breakfast for the kids and helped them to get organised and ready for their days. As part of my role as a nanny, I have always completed general household duties. This primarily involved washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, doing laundry, ironing and folding and keeping the kid's rooms tidy. I am happy to do other household duties such as meal prep and floor cleaning/bed changing- however, I do not have my own cleaning products so I would need to work in a house that could provide this. | My experience in care has been fundamental to my personal and professional growth. I have provided support to an elderly couple, carrying out various daily activities and offering them help with everything they needed. My commitment to the well-being of older people is also reflected in the time I spent with my grandmother, providing assistance and making her daily life easier. As a church volunteer, I have been actively involved in Sunday school, working with children. This community participation has taught me the importance of affection and empathy, skills that I am excited to apply in the field of community service and I am also the older sister of 3 brothers all my life I have taken care of them, helping my mother who is a single mother . My excitement grows even more knowing that I will begin studying community service next year. I look forward to opportunities that allow me to apply my dedication and skills to care for those who need daily support. | I have worked with Aspley Aged Care and Opal Carseldine Greens Care community. Working at Aspley Aged Care from ####-####, allowed me to gain confidence in attending to ADLs, including showering, toileting, mobilisation, feeding and refine my time management and interpersonal skills with both team members and families. Additionally, I was medication competent, where responsibilities include undertaking the six rights of medication administration, documentation, medication education, working with and reporting to the RN on duty, and general assessment to ensure safe care for residents. In 2022 I moved to Opal Carseldine Greens Care community, my experience was different at this facility, I took on the role of Floor leader of both the dementia unit and standard floor where I had more responsibility for the team and the residents.
