I first started watching children part-time when I was 13; I regularly took care of children from 4 different families with the children ranging in ages from 6 months to 12 years. This led to a steady after school position in high school and eventually to a full-time nanny position taking care of four children for a year after high school. After college and over 10 years experience in a career in engineering, I realized that being with children is what really made me happy and decided to make a career change. I am a very loving, kind and patient caregiver who finds joy in watching children learn and grow. I am very responsible and feel that your children's safety and well-being is my first priority. In my last position as a nanny, I had the wonderful opportunity to care for twin boys for three years. I started when they were 5 months old in a part-time capacity. A few months later, this evolved into a full-time position. I was responsible for feeding the boys, changing them, taking them on outings and above all, making sure they were safe and happy. During my time with the boys, I taught them infant sign language, read to them daily, took them to parks, libraries, museums, the zoo, engaged in age-appropriate activities and shared my love of music with them. I have a strict no TV policy and looked at everyday as an opportunity to teach them something new. I also made sure that everyday was filled with laughter. By the age of three and a half, both boys were reading, could write their names and almost all of the alphabet, could spell several words and would try to spell new words. I taught them basic addition, how to play a scale and a few songs on the piano. I believe that as a child care provider, it is my duty to make sure that the children I am caring for feel safe and loved at all times.

Hi , I'm Kristin. I am 57 years young , with 24+ years experience in childcare. I started working in paid childcare 14 years ago after falling in love with the experience while volunteering at my children's preschool. I worked with children ages 2-5 in a preschool setting for 7 years; 5 of those years in a cooperative nursery school as a Teacher Assistant and 2 years in a private preschool/day care as a Lead Teacher. I have also been a private nanny for a wonderful family, with a 6-year-old and 3-year-old for the past 6 years! My daily responsibilities have included diapering, potty training, meal prep, and light housekeeping all while supplying a rich developmental and child interest driven atmosphere. I have the 12 ECE units required for teaching preschool as well as a current CPR, AED and First Aid certification. I'm a senior college student who loves getting to spend time with kids and am looking to babysit while I am home for the summer!
