My son, P, will be 3 years old on April 1. He is sweet, kind, smart, playful and very active. He loves playing baseball, building with blocks and magnet tiles, dancing and watching movies. He wants to be Buzz Lightyear when he grows up and Bluey is his spirit animal! Haha ... He is a super social kid, with lots of friends and a big, loving family.
A couple months ago, P was diagnosed with Leukemia. He has been going through treatment and, although we have a long road ahead, he is doing very well. Because he is immunocompromised, he can't go "school" (daycare) right now and we have to be careful where he goes and who he interacts with.
As my husband and I both work, we need to find some reliable (and flexible) home care support. We are looking for someone to nanny 2-3 days a week for 5-6 hour a day. The tricky part is that P's schedule changes as he progresses through treatment - some weeks he has chemo 3-4 times, while other weeks we only have to go into Boston once for treatment. This means that some weeks we may only need someone in the afternoon a couple days, while other weeks he will feel great and we may need help 3-4 days, for the majority of the day. We usually know a week or two in advance what the schedule "should" looks like. It all depends on the phase of treatment, his counts and how he feels .... so, for us flexibility is really key.
Ideally, someone who would be willing to do little activities or lessons with P would be great - I know he misses learning in school. I've ordered a home preschool learning kit so we have lessons and activities for our nanny to do with P. He also loves to go outside and we have a big backyard with a swing set. So it would be wonderful if this person was willing to play and be active with him.
If you're interested and think it would be a nice mutual fit, please reach out. We would love to meet you!
