After three years with an au pair, we're transitioning to three days in preschool and two days of at home care. We would like someone to help prepare meals, tidy room, clean laundry, teach new activities, rotate toys and books, and offer engaging activities and experiences the two days that she's not in school.
Our interests and values include a family built around trust, love, and relationship development through time spent together with new experiences and memories. One of us works from home daily and the other commutes to work a few days each week.
We enjoy getting into the mountains to hike, ski, snowshoe, and explore. We love trying new restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries, as well as having friends over for dinners or barbecues. We love to travel. At home, we read, listen to music, cook, spend time on our deck, and go for neighborhood walks.
At the moment, our child loves staying active and benefits from exposure to a variety of activities, games, and challenges. She loves reading, pretending to play various jobs (doctor, restaurant, coffee shop, etc), and playing outside in the garden or playground. She doesn't watch too much television but has recently gained a few favorite programs that she watches a couple days each week. She's inquisitive and caring. We describe her as a "watch first, do second" kind of child who definitely prefers a challenge by choice approach. She is very communicative and establishing some independence.
They need help putting their new found knowledge and abilities to the test. Tactically, she's been potty trained for six months but still needs some assistance. She needs support with meals and nap time. She needs help pushing her physical abilities and proving to herself that she's capable of new abilities. She has a lot of questions.... and her memory is pretty incredible! :)
We're looking for someone who can proactively manage the balance between caretaker and playmate. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with light housekeeping, laundry, preparing meals, and comfortable with basic first aid should a fall or scrape occur. Being comfortable playing and offering new games, experiences, and skills is very important to help continue pushing her development. We would be comfortable enabling our nanny to drive her to activities after some relationship and trust has been established.
Yes. Our home has parking and is one mile from the Littleton light rail station.
No, our family does not have pets.
