| Hi My name is Bev. I am 55 years old. I have been doing private respite professionally for 5 years and with family members for about 15 years. My children are grown, I am currently in the process of leaving my current position as a Community Support Worker or in some organizations, called Direct Support Professional. I was currently supporting a with a gentle man and his family, I would assist the 58 year old gentleman, whom had down syndrome, with daily care private outings, I also took him to dialysis three times a week. The lovely man has since passed away as of July 5/2016. I did all his palliative care, the private care and emotional support that I showed the family was very appreciated. With this being said, the family and I had become very close over the five years. It is through this, and others |I have cared for, that I realized that my true passion, lies in doing more private respite and supporting the individuals and the families. While organizations May offer me regular hours and high wages, I have found I am more fulfilled, working privately. Thank you for considering me for your families needs.

Lena is a wonderful person and the most caring and compassionate caregiver. I was so lucky to have found her to care for my Mom who has recently passed away. My Mom immediately connected with Lena and looked forward to each and every visit. She always went over and above, updating me on a regular basis about my Mom's condition and health, which was very much appreciated as I live out of town and was not able to be there every day. She brought so much joy to my Mom in her last months and would often refer to Lena as a friend, which speaks volumes about her. After the family’s school years I started volunteering with the elderly, mainly visiting in nursing homes. I have always had a heart for the elderly and I feel a strong calling to work with them. While with her I took care of shopping, preparing meals, taking her to appointments, light housework, scheduling appointments, and arranging home repairs. One of the best parts about working with her was the companionship and sharing many laughs. We became fast friends and continued to be until she passed a few years later.
