Hi My name is Bev. I am 55 years old. I have been doing private respite professionally for 5 years and with family members for about 15 years. My children are grown, I am currently in the process of leaving my current position as a Community Support Worker or in some organizations, called Direct Support Professional. I was currently supporting a with a gentle man and his family, I would assist the 58 year old gentleman, whom had down syndrome, with daily care private outings, I also took him to dialysis three times a week. The lovely man has since passed away as of July 5/2016. I did all his palliative care, the private care and emotional support that I showed the family was very appreciated. With this being said, the family and I had become very close over the five years. It is through this, and others |I have cared for, that I realized that my true passion, lies in doing more private respite and supporting the individuals and the families. While organizations May offer me regular hours and high wages, I have found I am more fulfilled, working privately. Thank you for considering me for your families needs.
