My Name is Tori Kugel and I am a single mom of 3 children currently living in Glenburn. I'm the founder and administrator of this start-up co-op, and hope that it will be an interesting and fruitful idea to help reduce the cost of childcare as well as to make new connections both with other parents and for our children to make connections with other children. I know I have had difficulty locating reliable and quality childcare, and have struggled with the expense of it, so the idea of a co-op, or essentially exchanging childcare for points to be used to have other members care for your children with a low-cost annual fee to cover administrative costs and supplies for families providing care could be a wonderful solution. I've drafted an initial Co-Op Charter, which I hope to work on modifying once we have a few members in the group, as well as plan to work on determining the annual membership fee once I have more input from others. Points will be completely managed through this groups site as will people who are looking for sitters or people available to sit will be able to post needs and availability to the calendar. Members will then be able to offer to provide a sit if a need is listed, or reach someone who is available to sit if something comes up rather quickly (such as a child being too sick for school, but not too sick to need to see the doctor or need mom or dad to miss work).

I hope to hear from others who are interested in this idea as much as I am so we can get the ball rolling!
