Some elder care experts suggest:"Understand and accept your limits, plan ahead and ask for help". Have you ever noticed that when you plan and talk with your parents about their wishes, fears and needs that your stress is lower, the care provided is better and there are fewer family crises? Care.com has a new article http://www.care.com/senior-care-senior-caregiving-it-takes-an-army-p1017-q4989835.html that gives examples of the many roles a caregiver juggles and ways to involve others in sharing the care. The article is a great reminder that as a caregiver we are not alone and that "if it takes a village to raise a child it may take a small army to care for an aging loved one". I know sometimes the hardest step is deciding where to start. What has helped you when you're not sure where to start or wanted new ideas about how to care for the caregiver?
