I graduated in 2003 from Concordia University-St. Paul with a B. A. in Art. When I'm not working with seniors, I enjoy working as a pet sitter and dog walker. I love animals! I have two animals of my own: a rabbit named "Emmie" and a cat named "Cowboy". In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my rabbit and cat, swimming, bikingand walking. I also enjoy knitting, counted-cross-stitch projects, painting, sculpting with clay and photography.
In May 2011, I graduated from St. Paul College and I became a certified nursing assistant. I spent my clinicals (3 days) taking care of seniors at a nursing home. I have had quite a bit of experience with a 91-year-old woman, named Margaret, helping her bathe, dress and undress, helping her with grooming and hygiene and going for walks with her. Sometimes I take her out for ice cream or to her favorite store for some light shopping.
I am looking for a care taking position with a female client. I very much enjoy the company of seniors. I love talking with them and learning from them! I can transfer my client from bed to wheelchair and to toilet. I can bathe them, brush their hair, brush their teeth and clothe them. I can fix meals and feed my client. I can help my client perform any other activities of daily living. If my client is not in a special wheelchair, I can take them to the grocery store, or to run other errands. I can also help around the house with things that need to be done (laundry, cleaning, cooking, gardening, correspondence). I would also just love to visit with and listen to my client, to share stories and memories. ... show more
