About Valarie

As an experienced childcare provider, and a mother of three full grown adults, I'm devoted to nurturing, caring for, providing guidance, and motivating our future generations. I have a post graduate degree in Environmental Science and am a retiree of 28 years working with the Department of Public Health. I have one summer of experience working with children after school programs. This allowed me to understand children needs for their essential growth. I believe that open and honest communication is key to building strong relationships with parents. I provide regular updates on their child's day, either through verbal communication at pickup or via text or phone calls, depending on the parents' preference. I am comfortable enforcing household rules and ensuring a structured environment for the children in my care. Consistency and positive reinforcement are essential for a child's development. I will communicate with parents to ensure that our approaches are aligned.
