About Tawanda

Experience: 5 yrs

I enjoy being around children. I hold a degree in Psychology with a Minor in Child Development. I, also, own a daycare business but due to COVID, I choose to go to my client's homes. My passion is helping children grow and develop into intelligent, spontaneous beings. I taught Sped for 4 years and was recognized as the most compassionate teacher for 3 years. I believe in treating children like my own; Showing compassion, love, and respect at all times. Just to know that I'm helping a child, cognitively, brings me great joy.

Ms. Wann was our daughter’s nanny for nearly 2 years, caring for her from 1-3 years of age. As nervous first time parents, we interviewed several potential caregivers until we met Wann and were taken in by her warmth and obvious love of interacting with children. She started to connect with our daughter right away at her interview and that connection grew into a warm and reliable friendship that our daughter cherishes. She raced to the door every morning to meet Ms. Wann and begin their time together. They developed many inside jokes and Ms. Wann always knew how to build on our daughter’s imaginative play which was very important to us. Ms. Wann worked well within our family dynamic - with both parents working from home, we were involved with our daughter at certain points during the day. Ms. Wann knew how to allow for that without it diminishing her authority with our daughter when we were not present. We also have yet to introduce screen time, something that Ms. Wann respected. Ms. Wann never compromised on safety - she set boundaries with our daughter about what she could and could not do when they were playing together. We never worried about her ability to keep our daughter safe. She was also incredibly respectful of our COVID consciousness - masking, testing and communicating throughout her time with us. This was greatly appreciated. Ms. Wann is an open, caring and genuine person, and we miss her already!
