About Taryn

I am a career caregiver with experience working at a preschool, a children's hospital in their diagnostic classroom for 5 years, and finally, working for 7 years as a nanny. Being a nanny is my true passion. I love working with children one-on-one or in small groups in order to help them experience and explore the amazing world around them. As a nanny, I worked with kids 6-weeks to 7-years-old. During my time as a nanny, I have worked with 7 families, 2 of those families I worked for for five years. I worked closely with parents to establish sleep, eat and play routines in order to provide consistent schedules to normalize each child's day, developed and implemented age and developmental level appropriate activities for each child including art, reading, imaginative play, fine and gross motor play, school readiness activities and natural world experience; communicated and coordinated with parents concerning behavior and discipline issues; worked alongside each child and assisted them in problem solving by utilizing techniques such as emotion coaching, validation, and by instructing them in replacement skills in order to help each child be successful in their social interactions and inner world. In addition, I created and applied daily written summaries for each child's schedule, experiences, and accomplishments.
