Hello there! I have been working as a child caregiver for over 7 years now. I have experience working with children age 6 weeks-12 years old. I started out at childcare facilities where I was an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher and eventually moved on to being a full time nanny for 5 different families so far with kids ages 7 months- 6 years old. Responsibilities I have had as a nanny was first and foremost tending to the wellbeing of the child(ren)- feeding, bathing, playing with, and teaching! I also have helped to maintain the cleanliness of the home, cook/meal prep as needed, run errands, and help with household chores. I have my CPR/First Aid/AED certificate as well as my CDA (child development associate). What I love most about being a nanny is getting the opportunity to watch over a smaller group of children so I am able to properly give them my undivided attention and love. I would give Afiya 100 stars if I could. My friends/mom group call her "The Real Mary Poppins". Afiya has been our full-time nanny and home manager for about a year and half, and is sadly about to leave us to relocate with her Marine husband. So if you're reading this because Afiya has applied to a job in her new city, HIRE HER IMMEDIATELY. Don't wait, because - while she herself is pretty quiet - the impact she will have on your life is profound. As nanny to our 2.5 year-old son, she is an absolute wonder. She has that calm, unruffled confidence that toddlers immediately recognize and respond to. She is such a kind, considerate, warm human, and I can see how her innate goodness has impacted our kiddo - helping him feel consistently safe, happy, and nurtured. He adores her and considers her part of our family (as do we)! She is completely reliable, as well as an open, honest communicator, and she has our house brilliantly organized, uncluttered, and stocked up. We will miss her!!
