My journey began in childcare centers, where I worked as an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher. I later transitioned to being a full-time nanny, and have had the opportunity to work with five different families so far with children ranging from 7 months to 6 years old. I hold certifications in Adult, Child, & Baby CPR/First Aid/AED/ and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Taking children to activities outside the home is very important to me as it's an essential part of their development and offers unique opportunities of exploration! What I love most about being a nanny is the ability to provide personalized care in a smaller, more intimate setting, allowing me to give each child the attention, affection, and support they deserve. Afiya is a wonderful person and a caring, loving nanny. We were lucky to have her with our family for a year and a half. Afiya exceeded all our expectations for a caregiver with our son, and she was with our family when we welcomed our daughter home from the hospital. Afiya is patient, knowledgeable, and an all-around kind human. Afiya excels in gentle parenting, baby-led weaning, and understanding child development. We feel like Afiya is part of our family and fully trust her with our children. Every single day, Afiya greeted our son with a smile and a big hug. Afiya took our son to many social activities, such as the little gym, the library, open play, a gymnastics studio, art class, and several playdates. You will be so thankful to have Afiya caring for your children.
