I started caring for seniors at 20 years old when my grandma when she got sick. This is when I decided to become a nurse, she was my inspiration, I told her I wanted to be a nurse. 1997, I graduated from North Seattle with an Associate of Arts degree and the intention of going to nursing school at the UW. But life happened. I got married and had 2 kids. I was the accounting assistant for an aerospace company 7 years. When in 2013 my mom passed away and my younger brother Mike who has Autisim needed a caregiver. So I quit my job to take the 75 hour basic training to become a certified HCA. January 2014 I took the state exam for my license. I may have taken a different route to get there but here I am. My special skills include active listening, open ended questions, and deescalation.
