About Stephanie

I am an elementary special education teacher. I have been teaching for 18 years and absolutely love my job! I received my masters in reading in 2010. Throughout much of my day in the classroom, I am working with students on executive functioning skills, math, reading and writing. \r\n\r\nI enjoy creating lessons that engage each student while keeping their own personal needs and interests in mind. Upon meeting a student, I assess the student's needs and develop an appropriate intervention plan based on those results. I incorporate movement and hands on activities within my lessons to better engage that child. I use explicit phonics instruction in each lesson when the child demonstrates a need for help in this area. I incorporate all aspects of reading into my lessons as appropriate for that student (writing, spelling, vocabulary). \r\n\r\nI have been tutoring for the past 2 years and would love to be part of your child's journey! \r\n\r\nSincerely.\r\nStephanie
