About Sophie

Hi there! My name is Sophie and I'm from Santa Barbara, CA. I have been a childcare provider for three years as both a nanny and swim instructor. My additional training includes a professional rescuing license; lifeguard, first aid, blood-borne pathogens training, concussion training and CPR/AED certifications. I love children and helping to foster their growth. I have worked with infants to teenagers, both in the pool and on land. I attend the New School part time and have been in art schools my whole life, something I like to introduce to all kids I work with to encourage creative expression. I have worked with kids with mental and physical disabilities as well as mental illness and am very comfortable providing care. I prioritize children's safety and comfort regarding activities but also their own boundaries. I love movies, swimming, reading, music and all kinds of art! I have a variety of practical skills such as guitar, sewing and cooking that I am more than happy to teach.
