About Sonnia

Hello, My name is Sonnia. My Experience for Care Companion comes from taking care of my late daddy who was in hospice for 4 months, also I currently take care of my grandmother who is 102 years old and has dementia. I also volunteered at Vitas Hospice and was there for a few months before I had to take care of my dad in hospice. I did get training for care companion thru Vitas Health Care. I can proudly say that my dad was well taken care of by me, and he was at peace and very comfortable. I sat by him and watched tv, listen to music. I read his newspaper, made him special meals especially for his diminished hunger and fed him. Fixed his blankets and his bed so he can be comfortable. Distributed his medicine at the needed times. With my grandmother, I sit with her and just listen to her nonstop conversations because she loves to talk. I'm very patient, kind, compassionate and empathetic which are attributes especially needed for a care companion. I really do enjoy helping and giving.
