About Sonia

I grew up and in a sense was raised by cats and dogs. I spent my childhood years trailing around behind my neighbor's tabby cat Thomasina, until my parents were thoroughly enough convinced that I had the skills and heart to raise four-leggeds of my own. I've played Mama to a wily Rhodesian Ridgeback, sister (or, more like daughter) to a sage-like Brindle Boxer, long-term nanny to an adorably devious Beagle, and littermate to many a foster kittens (one of whom was a foster fail and currently resides on Whidbey Island with my mother... because I just couldn't let her go)! I also spent a substantial amount of time volunteering for a Horse Rescue Operation in Grass Valley, California. I'm experienced and comfortable with administering medications and giving lots (but not too many) of treats! The amount of joy I feel whilst walking dogs is slightly absurd; there's perhaps nothing that touches my heart more deeply than the aliveness of animals as they explore their natural environment.
