About Silvia

Hi, my name is Silvia! I'm a sophomore Hearing and Speech major at the University of Maryland, on a speech pathology track with a minor in Human Development. My academic focus drives my passion for child development, inclusive education, and language acquisition especially in bilingual children. I bring 4 years of hands-on experience from my high school's Child Development program, where I worked in a functioning preschool and earned a 90-hour preschool training certification. During my senior year, I interned in my school's Learning for Independence (LFI) program, assisting a teacher in a classroom for students with complex learning and cognitive needs, including mild to moderate intellectual disabilities. I'm highly flexible with scheduling and comfortable providing support in various ways. I'm open-minded, adaptable, and eager to help in any way needed!
