About Shontil

Over the past 25 years of my life, I have found a love and a passion of spending time and enjoying the smile and the precious time with children. In the year 2005, I volunteered at children's hospital in Chicago, IL. My duties were to assist staff in the child life department with recreational and learning activities, including arts & crafts, story time, and the on-site school program for patients. I also took the advantage to promote literacy by reading, solve puzzles and play games with the children. Only being there for a summer, I went ahead and applied for a full-time job with municipal park as a Camp Counselor for 2 years. I worked at cultural facility with children between the ages of 6 and 12 and a camp focused on Dance. I was assigned as the camp leader due to my past experience with dance companies. In 2007 to 2009, I decided to become part-time at cultural facility because I became focused on my future education. In 2009, I was hired in a public school as a Teacher's Assistant in a preschool classroom. Sadly, my school closed June of this year. As of now, I am currently unemployed but still working towards my BA at NLU Downtown.
