About Shelby

Patient, positive, passionate childcare worker who has 2+ years' experience caring for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. Skilled in creating safe, nurturing environments for children to learn and grow while still having fun. Builds strong bonds with children and communicates well with parents. I have a strong background in teaching children everyday skills and language, as well as implementing a daily routine. I worked at Kids Care Child Development center for 2 years and do babysit here and there when asked. I'm currently a senior at Southern Connecticut State University for Social Work. I am one of the social work interns at Cook Hill Elementary School in Wallingford, CT. It is a K-2 school. I have some experience working with children who have learning disabilities, autism, etc. from the internship. I am patient, understanding, and very willing to meet all children and parents where they are at!
