About Shelby

Hi! I'm Shelby! I'm a soon to be graduate from American University, and if I had to describe myself I would say I'm a charismatic, introspective and empathetic person! I've worked with and aided elders in my community and family ever since I cared for my grandmother in hospice when I was in my early teens. In high school, I was a part of the medical science academy and volunteered at the local hospital every weekend within the ER unit. I took care of people from all ages, but mainly focused on elder care and made sure I was an effective liaison between the hospital staff and our patients! As more of my grandparents grew older, I became more involved in taking care of them effectively as I've grown older with my experience from the ER. I am constantly committed to the necessity of dignity regardless of age and ability, give and encourage grace for oneself, and work at a patients pace.
