I have over 10 years of experience supporting new and growing families during the postpartum period and beyond. I believe that every child deserves the best start possible, and I have made that my passion. I attended College for Creative Studies majoring in Art Education and went on to teach art as well as nutrition in Detroit Public Schools through a program designed for at-risk students. I have also taught Infant, preK and Kindergarten Montessori. I am finishing a wonderful 5 years with my current nanny family and am looking for another perfect fit! I am looking to work with a family that is vaccinated and practicing social distancing as well as other safety precautions due to COVID.

Shawna is so knowledgeable about infant development. I was worried about nursing and sleeping schedules and she helped me get every thing sorted out. Being a first time mom I felt really overwhelmed but Shawna came into our family and really made me feel in control and confident. I can't thank her enough for everything she has done for me and my baby. Truly a blessing!
