About Sharon

Hello. I am a dual certified Special Education and Elementary Education teacher. I taught K-5 for over 27 years and loved watching my students grow socially, emotionally, and academically! I am a certified Responsive Classroom teacher who believes in hands on learning, choice activities and making learning fun! I recently retired in Oct. 2023 and am loving my flexible schedule. I am trained in Fundations (phonics program), SRA reading, and CPR. Some awards include: Teacher of the Year, Mentor Award, and Superintendents Award. I can meet you at your home or at a nearby library. Many references available. I'd describe my personality as outgoing, fun, and compassionate. I love seeing students smile when the skill "clicks" and they start to feel confident! It's the best! In my spare time, I like to read, go to the beach, exercise, spend time with friends and family, being present, and enjoying life! I am also a proud mother of 2 grown daughters, ages 23 & 24.
