About Shannon

With over 20 years of experience as a high school Science and Health teacher, I have a strong passion for working with children and creating meaningful learning experiences. During my teaching career, I focused on inquiry-based, hands-on learning and always sought ways to make lessons engaging and relatable. I created a working urban farm that included chickens, goats, hydroponics, an orchard, and a garden giving students a unique opportunity to connect with science in the real world. I recently transitioned to a new chapter in my professional life, moving away from full-time teaching to focus on tutoring, child care, and pet sitting. With a Master of Arts in Teaching Biology, I am committed to providing attentive, thoughtful, enriching and academic experiences for kids of all ages. I would love to connect with families who need a dedicated, caring, and highly educated provider.

Shannon was amazing with our kids! We were so thankful for her help on short notice. She was punctual, followed instructions well and picked up both kids from school. She engaged and interacted with them. They really enjoyed her and raved about her. We will definitely be using Shannon again.
