About Julia

With over a decade of experience in teaching math, computing, and science, I specialize in mentoring students of all ages. My passion for education is rooted in a strong academic foundation, including a Ph. D. in Oceanography from the University of California San Diego. During my time at UCSD, I served as a teaching assistant for five courses, guiding over 100 students through coursework and projects in science and policy. Before pursuing my Ph. D., I worked as an outdoor educator and tutor for middle and high school students, teaching a wide range of subjects, including math, science, and English. These experiences equipped me with strong communication skills and the ability to tailor my teaching to meet each student's needs.
