About Shannon

Hi, I'm Shannon, a 41-year-old architecture student living in Denver since May of this year. I moved here from Santa Cruz, CA with my beloved client/friend who is 80 and has Alzheimer's so that she could live closer to her son and receive some necessary medical care. Until recently, I was her primary live-in caregiver, but her condition is sadly progressing beyond the scope of the care I am qualified to provide. I am still her caregiver, but have gone back to my original role as mostly one of companionship. Prior to my employment as her caregiver, I was a managing partner in an unrelated business. After completing my first year of architecture school, I decided to resign and pivot to something that not only gives me a reprieve from desk and screen time, but more importantly, something that is meaningful to me: spending time with elderly people. I have long-term friendships with people between the ages of 61-94. We have shared interests in music, literature, film, nature, and history.
