I have loved babysitting for 6 years. I created activities for my youth group on a weekly basis for 5 years. I designed, taught, secured a venue, and made arrangements for visiting princesses for a summer dance camp for 11 girls 3 to 8 years old where I was the sole instructor. Everyday we warmed-up, explored creative dance experiences, learned dance technique and read a story. I was a counselor for Special Needs Youth Group where I helped my assigned participant age 22, but the mental age capacity of an 11-year-old complete crafts and play games while building social skills and appropriate behaviors, on a weekly basis for 8 months. I volunteered to nanny a 5-year-old girl for a neighbor put on bed rest. During my visits, we read together, played outside, and did educational play that used science and art skills such as jewelry making and science experiments. In all of my interactions with children, I encourage curiosity and structured play over screen time.
