About Nick

Hello! As of right now, I have 1 year of experience working with children in a professional context. Most recently, I worked as an after care specialist for the 2019 to 2020 school year. My duties included supervising and creating various activities for K-5 age children- anything from science experiments to dodgeball was fair game! It should be noted that an important aspect of the job was fostering long term relationships with the students. It's my belief that when the students like you, it's not only easier to get them to follow direction, it's also more rewarding for both them and you on a developmental level. Aside from after care, I also worked as a "music specialist" camp counselor and created music related programming for groups of 15 kids. If needed, I'm familiar and comfortable with typical housekeeping tasks like laundry and meal prep. Overall the thing I enjoy most about childcare is the humanistic focus- that's to say the focus on encouraging growth in other human beings.
