Hi! I'm Rachel. I'm a licensed Reading Specialist with a Masters in Reading. I love to motivate students and create lessons that are fun, engaging, & meaningful! I have a passion for teaching reading online and have completed 1000+ online sessions with K-2nd grade students. I use an Orton Gillingham approach and align lessons with Fundations (phonics program) which is used in MA, though I do tutor students from a variety of states and the phonics skills overlap with other state's standards. Each session students work on letter sounds, applying a new phonics pattern in words, short sentences & a book, as well as practicing sight words all through games and direct instruction. I have been a teacher assistant and a lead teacher in Chicago, NYC, & DC serving students with learning disabilities, as well as those within the general education classroom.

Rachel is enthusiastic, creative and always positive. She taught my son to read over video call and in person for 1.5 years. Rachel were using computer based, white board, paperback and other materials to keep my son engaged. I would highly recommend her to any parent. We were lucky to have Rachel in my son's life.
