Hello! I am a professional nanny of seven years and an experienced babysitter of 10+ years. I am CPR and first aid certified. I have a limited or zero screen time philosophy and instead make use of a million varieties of crafts and imaginative play indoors and outdoors. My favorite part of nannying is teaching littles about my favorite place and hobby, the library and books! My childcare philosophy is that as the secondary care giver for your children, it is a priority to reinforce all the values and beliefs of the parents. I want us to be on the same page at all times if possible. I personally practice a mix of attachment centered caregiving and positive discipline. I also believe that childcare goes beyond the care of the children and extends to the environment that surrounds them. Mary Kate was our full time nanny for 3 years even moved across the country with us from Kansas City to Connecticut in the summer of 2020 (despite the pandemic). She is experienced, professional, punctual and reliable. Very capable of juggling toddlers at various stages of development. Both of my kids loved her and my daughter referred to her as her "best friend". She has a way of being firm with setting boundaries, and yet soft in how she implements them. She is very even-keeled and often sees the humor in situations. She is constantly looking for activities for the kids and is more than willing to help with housework as well. I could not have survived without her.
